This manual gives a systematic presentation of an in -depth course of planimetry. Along with the main geometric information included in the standard school program in geometry, it contains a large additional material that expands and deepen basic information. The presentation style adopted in the manual is noticeably different from the traditional: the theorem is evidence. In some cases, the authors do not formulate theorems and axioms in advance, but look for their formulations with the reader. This approach is explained by the desire of the authors to give an idea of how mathematics is built and how mathematicians work.
In the book, considerable attention is paid to the geometry of Lobachevsky, a curve of constant width, isperimetric tasks, a number of remarkable theorems of planimetry are proved.
The manual is focused on students showing increased interest in mathematics, as well as everyone who is attracted to the beauty of geometry. It can be used in classes with in-depth study of mathematics, in the work of mathematical circles and electives, to serve as the main textbook in schools of physical and mathematical profile.
2nd edition, stereotypical
