Planet Athos. Transfiguration

Miguel Severo is the call sign of an unsuccessful scout that became the creative pseudonym of a successful writer and a member of the Union of Writers of Russia. The series of books 'Planet Athos' that came out of his pen is a kind of confession, drawing parallels between the tragedy of the Byzantine Empire in the middle and the tragedy of the Russian Empire at the end of the second millennium after the birth of Christ.
'If the Amazon rainforest provides our planet with eighty percent of its oxygen, then the Holy Mountain Athos provides our sinful world with spiritual oxygen by eighty percent, that is, with pure prayer. This is undoubtedly the place where the Gospel is brought to life, a place of divine experience, communication between the created and the Uncreated, a place of constant prayer and joyful weeping. As long as there is at least one person praying on Athos, this world lives and will continue to live. In our time, filled with materialism and rationalism, it is difficult to obtain the gifts of the Holy Spirit. However, nothing is impossible or incomprehensible for the Almighty God.'
