It told the stories of two wise jackals who engaged in intelligent conversations and used various stories about humans and animals as examples. The book quickly gained popularity not only in India but also in neighboring countries, where Persians and Arabs read it for centuries. In our days, the Iranian writer Mojgan Sheikhi selected the most famous stories from "Kalila and Dimna" and retold them in a light, accessible language for children and young people.
