The book of famous art historian Erast Kuznetsova is dedicated to the life and creativity of the outstanding Georgian artist Nikolai Aslanovich Pirosmanashvili (1862-1918), better known as Niko Pirosmani. The author, exploring all available sources, consistently creates a documentary life, although in the biography of the artist it is not always easy to separate the facts from the prevailing stereotypes and legends. Pirosmani"s creativity is considered in the context of the lifeguard of old Tiflis, because the artist"s paintings were created mainly for the design of shops, Dukhans and wine cellars - an integral part of this original city
