The basis of this physics course, published in five books, consists of lectures given by the author to the students of the Institute of Cryptography, Communications, and Informatics of the Russian Federal Security Service Academy. This book is dedicated to atomic physics and solid-state physics, touching on some other topics. The following topics are covered: elements of special theory of relativity, theory of atomic structure, fundamentals of quantum statistics, equilibrium thermal radiation, thermal and electrical properties of crystals, conductors and semiconductors, lasers. The exposition is based on quantum concepts. In accordance with the curriculum of the discipline "Physics," a brief but sufficiently rigorous presentation of the educational material is given in the form of a system of physical concepts, definitions, laws, and theorems. For students of higher educational institutions studying in the field of "Computer Science and Computer Engineering."
