In accessible to the wide range of readers, the form considers the history of the emergence, main directions and physicochemical principles of modern nanotechnology, including planar technology, supramolecular chemistry, molecular electronics, obtaining nanoparticles and nanostructured materials. Two main ways to create nanomaterials are discussed in detail: "from below-up" and "from above-down", as well as methods for studying the nanostructures and the effects of dimensional effects on their properties. The book is based on a course of lectures, which for several years are read by one of the authors at the Department of Polymer Physics and Crystals of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University.
The book is addressed to students, graduate students and specialists interested in nanotechnology issues
