The collection of memory of the Russian indologist, translator from Sanskrit, historian and theorist of culture Vladimir Nikolayevich Romanov (1947-2013) included articles by his colleagues. The structure of the book reflects the various spheres of the scientist’s interests: indology, history, cultural theory. In addition to analytical articles regarding the religions and literature of ancient India, as well as research related to the countries and cultures of the East and West (Russia, Japan, the Arab World), the collection includes original commented translations of classical texts from the Arabic and Persian languages. The collection is opened by several introductory articles in which the scientific and life path of V. N. Romanov is considered.
