The proposed book by Alena Daniel (1907-1994) - a famous Shivaiti musician, the author of popular works devoted to culture, mythology and the traditional art of India, is an attempt to understand the main problems of the Western European society of the second half of the 20th century by searching for an alternative path of development of Western civilization. In the course of reflections on the alleged threats and the future of mankind, the author shares with the reader his own interpretations of a number of spiritual texts of the Shivaitian tradition, as well as his own many years of experience in colonial India.
The book is intended for culturologists, philosophers, religious scholars, as well as for all those interested in both the features of the morphology of Western traditionalism of the 20th century and the general problems of the relationship between the West and the East
