The book of the famous Serbian scientist Petar Boyanich (b. 1964), a student of J. Derrida, is imbued with a special vision of the task of philosophy in the modern world. It is important for the researcher to convey to the academic community that in a situation where the war has ceased to be perceived as an event and went into the category of news stories, it is necessary to write about violence. That is why the author of the book asks the question of philosophy as social practice, about its textual and institutional phenomenon. The reading methodology, which the author calls "symptomological", allows us to detect new meanings hidden for readers and authors of texts about violence and messianism
