"Golden Book, as useful as the funny about the best structure of the state and about the new island of utopia" is the most famous book of an outstanding English lawyer, statesman, humanist Thomas Mora (1478-1535) Her first edition was prepared by a friend of Thomas Mora, the great thinker of the Renaissance, Erasmus of Rotterdam, and was published in 1516 in the Belgian city of Levven. In the author’s homeland, the first English translation saw the light only in 1551, after the execution of the Mora and the death of King Henry VIII - first the patron of the thinker, and then his pursuer.
