The monograph is dedicated to the work of Peter Evgenievich Astafyev (1846-1893), a wonderful Russian philosopher, psychologist and publicist from the galaxy of thinkers of the late 19th century - "Golden Age" of Russian culture. The book in detail the main achievements of P. E. Astafyev, associated with the justification of a spiritualistic worldview: his doctrine of spiritual personality and freedom of will, a paradoxical interpretation of a sense of love, the original concept of the “unconscious”, the idea of a person’s faith in himself as a soil of natural knowledge and t. . In the unity with the philosophical and psychological teaching of P. E. Astafyev, his journalism is considered (including the new and deeply relevant version of the "triple formula") and the possibility of a metaphysical understanding of the national nature of man is outlined.
