Time of magicians. The great decade of philosophy. 1919-1929

The German philosopher and publicist Wolfram Ailenberger, the founder and editor-in-chief of Philosophie Magazin, casts a look at one of the great decades of German-Austrian thought-the twenties of the last century, in detail under a microscope, considering not only philosophical creativity, but also the life of four magicians : Ernst Cassirer, Martin Heidegger, Walter Benjamin and Ludwig Wittgenstein, whose fates bizarrely intertwined and with ups and downs of a violent time between the two world wars. The book is not like a textbook on the history of philosophy, nor an academic study, nor a fictionalized biography, but combines the features of all these genres, convincingly highlighting life and thought through each other
