Karl Evgeny Dühring (1833 - 1921) - German philosopher, sociologist and jurist. He considered violence the reason for social inequality and poverty and created a special theory of the role, mainly negative, violence in history.
Friedrich Engels (1820 - 1895), one of the founders of Marxism, the closest friend and ally of Karl Marx, criticized Dühring"s ideas. In addition to the "theory of violence", Engels subjected to critical analysis and other Dühring views, including about personality freedom, equality, and ways of transformation of society.
