In this short book, Marcus Gabriel claims that art is inherently uncontrollable. In nature, works of art are so autonomous so that the world of art can never overpower it. Since the time of cave paintings in affectionate, art has owned human minds. Thanks to the emergence of art, we became people, that is, creatures who live in the light of the image of the human being and its position in the world and in relation to other types. Thanks to its structural, ontological power, art was and remains radically autonomous. Nevertheless, this power is deeply ambiguous, since we are not able to control its action. In this book, the leading representative of “New Realism” applies such a philosophical view of art to create a new aesthetic realism
