The book of the famous Moscow philosopher, literary critic and culturalist Georgy Dmitrievich Gachev (1929-2008) is the experience of a philosophical interpretation of everyday life. As Gachev himself pointed out, this is a book for reading objects among which we live. The window, house, cabbage soup, cat, waltz - every thing for a thinker, standing face to face with being, is a news, body, oozes, and these meanings must be learned to read.
From the aesthetics of everyday life, the author goes back to the philosophy of art. Theater, music, literature, cinema, television are revealed as elements of worldview. Through conversations about the philosophy of life of different peoples, national images of the world are characterized. A treatise on imagination and thinking is printed, George Gachev and his studies about things are “vital”.
In a separate section, articles and notes on Moscow and the Moscow text of Russian culture are identified, as well as fragments of the “biography” of the thinker related to its Moscow childhood and youth.
