Having released on the screens of cinemas in the Easter weekend of 1999, the “matrix” on the first day of rental became a kind of philosophical provocation. Questions raised in the narrative about the programmer Thomas Anderson were once voiced by Plato, Descartes and Kant: “How to determine reality?” What is a person? And How do fate and free will correlate?
“Matrix” is a cocktail of various motives: Zen Buddhism, Jungian psychology, popular quantum mechanics, Hong Kong films about martial arts and other “ingredients”. The sisters of Vachovsky were innovatively united in the film aspects of popular culture and academic knowledge.
The philosophical concepts of ancient thinkers and the gloomy conclusions of scientists of the era of postmodernism organically coexist in scientific and fiction reality.
