The textbook covers the entire spectrum of Islamic philosophical thought, illuminating its development from the moment of the origin of philosophical reflection to the present. The main directions and schools of the classical period are considered: mutasism, falsaph, philosophy of insight, philosophical teachings of the Ismailis and Sufis. The concept of Ibn Haldun and the philosophy of the Sephevid era represent the post -classical stage. The philosophical searches of the Arab-Muslim thinkers of our time are highlighted in detail. The textbook discusses the features of the authoritative texts of Islam (Koran and Sunnah), the main features of Islamic doctrine, rights and ethics, which are determined for the worldview of Muslims.
In accordance with the structure of the textbook, the authors compiled an anthology of Arab-Muslim philosophy. Many translations are made specifically for this publication or published in the new edition and with updated comments. For the first time under one cover, works are collected, representing the whole tradition of Arab-Muslim philosophy from its origin to the present.
