The proposed book is the second part of the dilogy dedicated to the work of the famous American writer Epton Sinclair (1878–1968), the 1943 Pulitzer laureate, writing about a hundred books translated into forty -seven languages, including Russian circulations.
The book consists of two parts. In the first part, we are talking about the documentary novel Boston, dedicated to the case of anarchists Sakko and Vanzetti, executed in the USA in 1927. In the second part, a series of six documentary books “Invisible Hand” is considered, where a devoted socialist Sinclair explores the harmful influence of the capitalist economy on religion, press, education, literature, art.
All these books in Russian were published in 1924-1930. And now in single copies are in only two main libraries of Russia. Due to the fact that left -wing ideas continue to affect people"s minds, it seems appropriate to remind the modern reader the point of view of one of the outstanding and honest media of this utopian ideology
