The attention of readers is offered the book of the great German poet, philosopher and natural scientist Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749-1832), containing his doctrine of color. The author begins his work with the consideration of various physiological and natural phenomena that affect the visual perception by a person of the world, and then proceeds to the historical analysis of the doctrine of color, addressing both the theories of ancient times and to the teachings of the New Age, in particular, he considers and subjected to Criticism by Newton"s teaching about flowers.
