Mikhail Alexandrovich Bakunin (1814-1876) is the most influential Russian philosopher outside of Russia. Bakunin in the world is quoted much more often than universally recognized geniuses of Russian culture Leo Tolstoy and Fedor Dostoevsky combined. Generations of anarchists around the world read his books and were inspired by his adventures. Bakunin participated in several uprisings, was sentenced to death twice, boldly fled from the Siberian exile, making an almost complete round -the -world trip. "Statehood and anarchy" are the most significant work of Bakunin. It was written in 1873 and in many ways summed up the results of the philosopher’s thoughts. This is one of the few texts of the philosopher written in Russian (albeit in Zurich), especially for compatriots, who, unfortunately, did not listen to him
