Niccolo Machiavelli devoted part of his life to the public service. His experience and observation of the methods of managing politicians became the basis of the Treatise "Sovereign", known today all over the world. Machiavelli in him acted as a supporter of strong power, for the sake of strengthening which he allowed treachery, betrayal, and violence. Of course, this caused conflicting opinions, and the Catholic Church introduced his work to the lists of prohibited books. Nevertheless, the ideas of this historian and philosopher about management methods, about the methods of obtaining power, about what qualities the ruler should possess and what the success of the reforms carried out depends on, found their application in the field of politics and are relevant to this day.
The book also included a work on military art, in which the author, not being a military man and acquiring his knowledge in theory, expressed so deep ideas that they covered the most different aspects of human life.
Machiavelli works are so aphoristic that we have long dispersed to quotes that we often pronounce without even knowing who their author is.
