Niccolo Machiavelli is an outstanding politician of the Renaissance. His treatise “Sovereign”, for a long time prohibited by the Catholic Church because of the sore statements of the author, is one of the most famous books about politics, state and power. “The end justifies the funds” - such, according to Machiavelli, the main principle of government. He acts as a supporter of despotic power when the ruler must inspire the subjects not of love, but fear, and considers acts unacceptable from the point of view of morality, good for the prosperity of the state. For five centuries, Machiavelli has been associated with the most cynical methods of management, and the term “Machiavellism” has become a synonym for insidiousness, hypocrisy, meanness and cruelty
