“Society of the performance” is a metaphor for the world in which direct contact with reality is lost: “Everything that was previously experienced directly is now removed into the performance.” The work is devoted to analysis and criticism of both the Western capitalist system - the “Society of the dispersed performance” and the Soviet authoritarian system - “Society of the concentrated performance”. The “comments” presents a society of an integrated performance, which includes totalitarian control and dictatorship of the consumer society
