This volume is dedicated to the outstanding thinker, the representative of the Russian philosophical tradition of the first half of the 20th century-Sergey Iosifovich Gessen (1887–1950), philosophical, pedagogical, literary and critical, political ideas of which are today more and more interest both in Russia and abroad. The volume contains articles by modern philosophers, culturalists, teachers, literary critics, in which Hessen"s intellectual heritage is updated. A number of articles are devoted to his personality and fate, in which all the tragic events of the first half of the twentieth century are expressed.
