The subject of the book is the history and theory of the scientific method. The first part analyzes the main concepts of the scientific method in the history of the philosophy of science from antiquity to our time. The second part considers the theoretical problems of the modern methodology of science. The author develops the systemic concept of the scientific method as an interconnected set of different cognitive means used in real scientific knowledge. This relationship is due to the internal structure of scientific knowledge as a holistic system consisting of qualitatively different fields, levels and types of scientific knowledge.
