The attention of readers is offered a book by the famous French social philosopher Georges Sorel (1847-1922), which is the pinnacle of his work of the syndicalist period. In this work, the author defends the proletarian violence and heroic morality, he rejects parliamentary socialism, which turned the class struggle into a trading instrument to achieve small material benefits. Class struggle, proletarian violence, according to J. Sorel, have a higher purpose-the total renewal of society through direct action of the proletariat. The author praises the high moral value of proletarian violence, believing that humanism, mild -hearted only encouraging fraud and tricks common in market societies. Only the struggle for high non -altilitarian goals (that is, socialism), in his opinion, can revive morality in society.
