The book “Reading Time” - a monographic study affects a number of problems of modern reading philosophy. The book has five sections, each of which is dedicated to a separate topic. The phenomenon of reading is analyzed with the involvement of material from literature, philosophy, sociology of reading and anthropology. The issues related to the crisis of reading in the post -industrial hyperinformation era, the loss of the time of individual development and a change in the status of the book in the latest European culture are discussed. The author is in the focus of the author of different theories of reading (M. Proust, R. Bart, V. Benjamin, etc) Significantly the place is reserved for the critical analysis of the problems of the translation of German and French literature (M. Heidegger in the translations of V.V. Bibikhin and A.V. Mikhailov, and individual fragments from the translations of F. Snesche, M. Terida, J. Batai, are also discussed and etc)
