The book of the famous French philosopher, ethnographer and psychologist Lucien Levi-Bryul (1857-1939) is devoted to the problems of the nature of human thinking, the cultural conditionality of its development. Levi-Brule develops his own concept of praological thinking, the main provisions of which gained significant fame and caused wide controversy in various fields of humanities. Partly, this polemic is reflected by the article that opens this publication by the famous Soviet scientist V.K. Nikolsky, which also addresses the problem of perceiving the ideas of Levi-Bruly in Russia.
The book can be useful to psychologists, religious scholars, anthropologists, culturalists, as well as to everyone who is interested in the problems of human knowledge
