The Rotterdam erazm, the largest scientist and philosopher of the European Renaissance, created a huge number of serious and accessible not to everyone of scientific papers. However, the thinker gained worldwide fame thanks to, as he himself believed, “trinket” - the satirical panegiric of “praise of stupidity”. This work retains its relevance and can make the reader today. The personified stupidity praises itself, listing what successful fools owe it, and criticizing in vain spending their strength and time of scientists. Being a true humanist, Rotterdam"s erazm does not use rude sarcasm in its satire, but, on the contrary, with subtle irony and good -natured humor creates a picture of the world from the point of view of this eternal companion of mankind, a familiar, unfortunately, to each of us
