Max Scheller (1874-1928) is a German philosopher and sociologist, founder of philosophical anthropology, phenomenological emotional axiology and sociology of knowledge. His views were formed under the influence of the ideas of neo -Kantianism, the philosophy of life.
The book publishes previously not translated work, in particular, “On the meaning of suffering” (1912-1927), “On the essence of philosophy and moral condition for philosophical knowledge” (1917), the third section “On Alien Self” of the book “Essence” and forms of sympathy ”(1923), fragments of“ problems of religion ”(1921), etc. Each of them reveals the originality of the phenomenological concept of M. Scheler, which differed from the understanding of the phenomenology of E. Husserl. Sheler"s ideas had an influence on the entire European philosophy of the 20th century.
