The monograph considers the formation of Russian medieval philosophy, stages of development and national characteristics. Significant attention is paid to the nature of the Byzantine influence and its significance in the history of Russian medieval philosophical thought.
Analyzing the relationship of the Byzantine and Russian medieval philosophy, the author of the monograph comes to the conclusion that one of the most significant influences was Byzantine neoplatonism (Dionysius Areopagit, Maxim Confessor, Philip Desert) This influence was affected both in translated literature and in the original works of Russian thinkers (Kyiv Metropolitan Nile, Nile Sorsky, Maxim Grek, Protopop Avvakum, Dimitri Rostov, Afanasy Kholmogorsk, etc).
The book is intended for all those interested in the history of Russian medieval philosophy
