The first volume presents essays and articles that reflect the author’s struggle for an adequate image of the history of Russian philosophy. The main attention is paid to the practically unexplored direction of Russian philosophical thought, the heyday of which falls on the second half of the 19th century. The leading ideas of this direction are considered, allowing it to see in it Russian classical philosophy, busy not to search for the “Absolute”, but to the problem of man, his path to himself, to his personal and national essence. Along with the general description of Russian classical philosophy, a number of articles discusses the views of its main representatives, among which N.N. Strakhov, his multifaceted contribution to Russian philosophy, as well as his relationship with L.N. Tolstoy and F.M. Dostoevsky. In the last section, false idols are criticized, the ritual worship of which today replaces the true historiography of Russian philosophy and provokes an nihilistic attitude to our philosophical heritage
