Emerson is rightfully considered the head of the philosophical and literary movement of transcendentalism and one of the most famous thinkers in the entire history of the United States. He was a friend and mentor of the original writer and philosopher Henry David Toro (1817–1962) The main ideas that R. W. Emerson developed in his work and which were reflected in this collection are social equality and equality of people before God, continuous spiritual improvement, proximity to nature, purification from vulgar-material interests. Such issues as the role of personality in the history and influence of outstanding representatives of mankind on the culture and lifestyle of other people are also affected
