The attention of readers is proposed to the book of the French philosopher and historian of science Abel Rey (1873-1940), which gives a general idea of the form in which the great issues of philosophy arise before a person. These issues remained the same throughout the history of mankind: the problems of matter, life, knowledge, action, behavior, morality, etc., in a word, the problem of origin, goal and the last essence of things. Separate eras in the development of philosophy differed among themselves as a way of forming these problems and the form of their expression, depending on the interests prevailing in this era, the author sought to show how, under the influence of these direct interests, the way of forming philosophical problems changed.
