The book of the Soviet philosopher-marxist M. M. Rosental is an essay on clarification of the role of materialistic dialectics in the system of philosophical knowledge and the description of each of its basic laws. The first chapter gives a general introduction to materialistic teaching, the role of dialectics and its place in philosophy are clarified. In the second, third and fourth chapters, specific dialectical laws are described: unity and struggle of opposites, the transition of the quantity into quality and quality to quantity, as well as denial of denial. In the last, fifth chapter, the role of these laws in a materialistic analysis clarifies.
