The proposed book examines the problem of the formation and development of political economy in Russia under the influence of Marxism. It is shown that Marxism as an intellectual course was characterized by a Russian scientist long before the Russian Revolution of 1917. The book contains a clear difference between authentic Marxism and the Soviet ideological structure of Marxism-Leninism. Authentic Marxism was perceived by Russian intellectuals and then developed already in post -revolutionary time in a very stringent framework of Soviet dogmatism, i.e. the design of Marxism-Leninism. The historical and literary material shows a complex (sometimes tragic) fate of Russian intellectuals, which devoted their lives to the search for ways of development of Russia and working in the Marxist paradigm. And despite the creation of “Marxism-Leninism” in the post-revolutionary period of the Soviet officialdom, a creative attitude towards Marxism has been preserved among some Soviet political experts. All these issues are considered on the example of three outstanding Russian political students: M.I. Tugan-Baranovsky, I.I. Rubin, Ya.A. Kronroda. The last two in Soviet times were exposed to stiffly criticism. But their contribution to domestic political economic thought seems very significant.
