The book is devoted to the analysis of the development of philosophical ideas about a person, about historical types of interpretation of the body, soul, spirit and their relationship. In the context of the features of cultures of antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, as well as the present, the author reconstructs the most significant anthropological concepts, covers the views of the largest philosophers of the past and the present. Particular attention in the book is paid to a comparative analysis of the anthropological constructions of Russian and Western thinkers. At the same time, on the one hand, the specific features of their philosophizing are revealed, due to historical, cultural and mental foundations, and on the other hand, the lines of continuity and ideological influences associated with the formation of a person’s understanding during the world historical and philosophical process are traced
