This publication continues the publication of works on the philosophy of language and linguistics from the vast heritage of V. von Humboldt, first translated into Russian. The book includes the study of the philosophy and theory of language that have not lost its relevance, including two important works that clarify the views of V. von Humboldt on the phonology and phonetics, the double division of the language, the principles of the formation of the language picture of the world and the grammatical picture of the language, its teaching about the internal the form of the language, as well as an understanding of the universal type of language and various ways of action of languages in the formation of speech. The lighting of theoretical thought is supplemented by the work containing the analysis of a particular material (in particular, Sanskrit), which allows us to more fully represent the scientific paradigm of V. von Gumboldt, laid on the basis of its concept of general linguistics and uniting research practice (structural analysis) and philosophical understanding.
