“Letters and advice to young girls and women” is a selection of essays and Epistles of Roskin, addressed to his readers, students and all young ladies, in need of delicate, but wise of life"s life. Letters are permeated with friendly irony and paternal care. In a delicate and condescending tone, Ryskin explains to his readers the most important issues of spiritual and social life. His messages highlighted the issues of molls, charity, command of the economy, rules of behavior in society and in the family, selecting literature useful for the mind and heart, although spiritual education invariably turns out to be in the first place in all Soviets of Roskin. Some recommendations or instructions of an outstanding critic and publicist have retained their relevance today, while others can serve, first of all, an illustration of a specific nature of the historical period in which they were created. “Letters and advice to young girls” is a curious and original document of the Victorian era, which is increasingly being addressed by the interested look of modern readers - or, more often, readers
