This work was created in the line of the civilizational approach to history, for O. Spengler Francis Parker Yoki considered civilization to be the late stage of development of any culture as the highest organic form, dedicated to its origin and development to a certain geographical landscape. The dynamic development of Spengler"s ideas, supported by the severity of the political situation (World War II), according to the fresh traces of which the book was written, makes it reading a dramatic experience. The sharply political nature of the text, as well as the interest, which he deserves partly explained by the fact that his author represented the losing side in the global political and cultural confrontation of the 20th century. Regardless of the fact that the book postulates the inevitability of further political confrontation of existing cultural communities, as well as the communities of those who are, in the opinion of the author, outside culture, its political and worldview insights are extremely relevant with the historical perspective of the current, XXI century.
The book is addressed to the widest circle of readers who are not indifferent to politics, as well as to the fate of mankind as a whole
