"History of European Culture" L.P. Karsavin is a study of the Western European, and partly East European culture from its origin in the Roman era until the XVIII-XIX centuries. The first part of this work is the Tom "Roman Empire, Christianity and Barbaras", in which L.P. Karsavin gives a general review of the events of the history and culture of Europe from the 3rd century. n. e. Until the middle of the VIII century. n. e (recent events are the end of the Merovingian era in the Frankish kingdom, the time of Alfred the Great in England, Liutprand and Pope Gregory III in Italy), at the same time making great excursions in the earlier history of the Roman Empire, the ancient and Western European (barbaric) world. Being a part of a large work, this volume is an independent work that is quite completed in form, and may be the subject of special historical interest for a specialist-anti-core. Exploring the period of the 3rd-VIII centuries. And when drawing a picture of this transition as a whole, L.P. Karsavin follows the traditions of Western European science of the XVIII-XIX centuries (for example, L. de Tillelene, Ed. Gibbon, N. D.
