The book is dedicated to the epistemology of virtues (Virtue Epistemology) - one of the leading directions of modern analytical epistemology. For the first time in the domestic philosophical tradition, a critical systemic analysis of the basic concepts of the epistemology of virtues (E. Goldman, E. Souza, D. Protchard, J. Greco, L. Zazubski, J. Bayer, etc) was carried out. The book substantiates the two -level concept of intellectual virtues, which is manifested in the integration of two types of cognitive perfection: 1) general cognitive abilities and 2) individual qualities of an intellectual nature. Area contextualism is proposed, in which the subject of attribution of knowledge (expert) should be an intellectually virtuous person, since it is such a subject of knowledge that can evaluate the epistemic significance of the context. The author’s interpretation of key epistemic virtues was carried out, which creates a theoretical base for a new direction of research in the theory of knowledge - an intellectual ethos of knowledge. It is shown that the most effective epistemological position of the subject involved in collective knowledge is the basis of which lies the intellectual virtue of trust
