For many centuries, the need to make discoveries encouraged people to move forward. The impulse, expressed by the Latin word Curiositas, makes the inquisitive mind constantly ask questions, pushing to find the answers: why are we here? What drives everyone? What then? Curiositas as a “desire to know” is a natural curiosity that involves us in an endless and painstaking process of cognition.
According to Alberto Mangel, the explanation of many obscure phenomena can be found in books that have absorbed everything that people learned about the world, consciously or intuitively. One of these books important for the author was the Divine Comedy. Dante Aligieri’s poem summarizes the tragic experience of mankind and echoes the motives that sound in the works of other authors and eras, from antiquity to modern times. The works of Socrates and Plato, sacred scriptures, the texts of Thomas Aquinas, Lewis Carroll, Franz Kafka and Primo Levy or the language of modern advertising - all these are sources of our idea of ourselves and attempts to comprehend the events that are taking place with us through the logo and imagination.
