The theme "Cognition and Translation" accompanied the author all his life: from the university course on the translations of Shakespeare, through the "words and things", published during the period "stagnation", to recent translations of work from the field of psychoanalysis and deconstruction. And therefore, "cognition and translation" is a sphere of personal experience, in which there are many things - both practice, and reflection on the way, and comparing approaches to translation in different periods and in different countries. The translation is the anthropological constant of human life and the condition for the possibility of cognition in the humanities, however, this is not purely academic matter, but the sphere of passions and clashes. Why has the translation become a philosophical problem today? All this will be discussed in the book. It has two sections: the first - about knowledge and language, the second - about translation as a reflective resource of understanding.
The book is designed for a wide range of readers interested in the history of knowledge, problems of philosophy, language, culture
