The reader’s attention is proposed to the book of the French biologist and philosopher, a representative of the natural scientific materialism F. Le Danteket (1869-1917), in which he develops his philosophical and socio-ethical concepts. In his opinion, the psyche in its nature does not differ qualitatively from physiology, and therefore consciousness is not an independent reality, but there is only an epiphenom --- an appendage to the phenomenon, a side effect. One of the main tasks of this book is to show that the epiphenoal consciousness is available to study experimentally.
The book is recommended for philosophers, historians and methodologists of science, psychologists, biologists, as well as all interested readers
