The publication reflects the results of a study on the problem of the formation of civilian values. The main approaches to understanding citizenship in political philosophy, the interpretation of citizenship in actual pedagogical research and the analysis of foreign and Russian practices for the formation of civil values and social activity among schoolchildren are presented. In addition to theoretical material, the book presents the results of empirical studies - polls and interviews conducted in 2019 in the Sverdlovsk region, recommendations are proposed to improve the practice of the formation of citizenship.
