Arthur Schopenhauer is an outstanding German philosopher -irrationalist, a bright representative of the post -classical philosophy of the 19th century. The thinker, whose teaching is often called pessimistic philosophy, considered the human life a meaningless, and the existing world - the worst of the possible worlds. The world in Schopenhauer is an “arena strewn with coals” through which a person has to go. The driving force of everything is the will to life, which generates desires. But even if desires are satisfied, a person is not able to experience happiness, instead of this, saturation and boredom are waiting for him, and then new desires and suffering.
