Tastes could not be discussed. But a sense of taste is neither the gift of nature, nor a work of art. It requires daily practice to develop, gain sophistication and distinguish what is not just something that attracts the attention of novelty, but that which has timeless value. Taste is a skill that is acquired in the right environment: surrounded by sparkling trinkets, only “low” taste that does not require mental work can be developed in order to distinguish value. And having developed the habit of finding beauty where it does not “scream”, paying attention to herself, and in silence she expects a detection, there will also be a sophistication of taste. It is she who makes it possible to enjoy the beauty of nature and works of art created centuries ago.
Definitely, the reprint of Gerard’s book “On Taste” even after more than 200 years will be in place and by the time in order to remind the reader of the eternal values that are taught to find in themselves and use the instinct of quality
