One of the outstanding monuments of Chinese thought, the fundamental source of the teachings of Taoism was a treatise created by Lao Tzu more than two thousand years ago and called “Tao De Jing”. The personality of Lao Tzu and the content of the book are so ambiguous that there are still a lot of
disputes.
In the prepared publication, the treatise is presented in the translation of Daniil Konisi, the Japanese scientist and graduate of the seminary at the Russian Theological Academy in Tokyo, who fulfilled his translation at the request of Leo Tolstoy. The treatise is supplemented by the scientific research of D. Konisi about the philosophy of Lao Tzu and the aphorisms of Lao Tzu, translated by L.N. Tolstoy
