The textbook was prepared on the basis of lectures and seminar classes, which by the author for 15 years spends in the St. Filaret Orthodox Christian Institute. In the book, an attempt was made to follow the development of free thought, for the first time in the history of the European civilization, and attempted to solve all new and new tasks. The solution of some tasks immediately leads to the emergence of new ones. It is the movement of thought, its discoveries and its deadlocks is subject to consideration in this book.
Unlike many textbooks on the history of philosophy, in which the opinions ("dokes") of different thinkers are retelling in chronological order, the book is primarily looking for an answer to the question of how one or another philosopher thoughted, and nothing he claimed . The reader will not find in the textbook statement of all philosophical doctrines or theories arising in antiquity. However, as it reads, he will have an idea of how serious problems arose before the thinkers of the time, and he will be involved in one way or another in the motion of thought that was trying to solve them.
The textbook is intended for students of universities, studying in the areas of training "philosophy" (47.03.01), "Applied Ethics" (47.03.02), "Religious Science" (47.03.01), "Theology" (48.03.01) And other humanitarian areas and specialties
